‌Lenses can be mainly divided into the following categories‌:‌

‌Zoom lens‌: This lens can change the focal length within a certain range, so as to obtain different widths of field of view and different sizes of images. Zoom lenses are very conducive to picture composition, especially for travel, because it can reduce the amount of photographic equipment carried and save time to change lenses.

‌Fixed focus lens‌: Fixed focus lenses usually have a fixed focal length and cannot be adjusted. Although they are not as flexible as zoom lenses, they can provide higher image quality and larger aperture at a specific focal length. Fixed focus lenses are often used in professional photography that requires high image quality.

‌Wide-angle lens‌: This lens has a shorter focal length and a larger angle of view, which is suitable for shooting wide landscapes or buildings. Wide-angle lenses are divided into ordinary wide-angle lenses and ultra-wide-angle lenses. The former generally has a focal length of 24~38mm and a viewing angle of 60~84 degrees; the latter has a focal length of 13~20mm and a viewing angle of 94~118 degrees.

‌Telephoto lens‌: Telephoto lenses are used to shoot distant scenes, such as wildlife, sports scenes, etc. Telephoto lenses have a focal length greater than 70mm and can be further subdivided into medium-telephoto lenses (such as 70-200mm) and super-telephoto lenses (greater than 200mm).

‌Macro lens‌: This lens is specifically used to shoot fine objects, such as flowers, insects, etc. Macro lenses are usually designed to stretch longer to maintain clear image quality at close distances.

‌Tilt-Shift lens‌: This lens allows the photographer to adjust the focal plane angle of the scene and is often used for shooting that requires a special depth of field effect.

‌Applicable scenarios for different types of lenses‌:

‌Zoom lens‌: Suitable for a variety of shooting scenes such as travel, landscape, portrait, etc., which is convenient for quickly adjusting the focus and composition.
‌Prime lens‌: Suitable for shooting that requires high image quality and a larger aperture, such as portrait and still life photography.
‌Wide-angle lens‌: Suitable for shooting wide landscapes, buildings and large events.
‌Telephoto lens‌: Suitable for shooting wildlife, sports scenes and close-ups of people at a distance.
‌Macro lens‌: Suitable for shooting fine objects such as insects and flowers.
‌Tilt-Shift lens‌: Suitable for architectural and product photography that requires special depth of field control.
